CaLiFoRnIa!

While I was in Utah, Matt started looking for a place for us to live! My dad drove to California with me and the kids which was a life-saver! So when we got there Matt showed us around a little and we looked at house after house after house after...you get the idea.   

When we got tired of looking at houses, we escaped to an adorable little Danish town, only about 20 minutes from the base.  It was so nice and so much fun! 

Then we checked out our new beach. Hmm..this is a beach? What you can't see is that the water is like ice water and the temperature outside was like 50 degrees! But the kids were better sports than I was so I got a few cute pictures!

This beach is the one on the base, which is where a surfer was attacked/eaten last October. Pretty spooky

Another day, obviously we were VERY tired of looking at houses (and not finding anything), we headed to Pismo Beach.  It's probably a cute little beach town from the way dad and Matt were loving it, but my mood wouldn't allow me to see it that way :) So we'll have to go back sometime and try again.

I'm not even sure where this was..but it was beautiful. Just like the little naked baby in corner.

This is how exhausted we all felt after a few days of house hunting! The kids did love their week stay in the hotel.  Papaw gave them billions of quarters so they pretty much survived off of the vending machines.  But that's okay, because we were kind of homeless, right?

My dad left the day before we had to be out of a hotel (before we had to pay for it ourselves) and we had to quickly find a temporary apartment until we could find a house.  The hardest part was deciding which town we wanted to focus our search in.  Did we want to be farther from work, but closer to busier city life and better shopping OR closer to work and live the small town life.  It doesn't sound all that difficult of a choice, just pick one right?

Well, I'm not good at choosing!
