This was way back in December! the 27th to be exact. My mom and dad had flown in the night before and Matt's parents left to go home that morning.
On December 28th our Luker turned FIVE!! I couldn't believe it when Nautica turned five and now here we go again!!
Birthday Pancake Breakfast
Since we had family in town, we opted for an outing to Chuck-E-Cheese and Wendy's Happy Meals. It doesn't get much easier than that!
And it was a big hit!
See, even Saylor thought so!
The Birthday boy and Daddy
This is the part that I'm not totally proud of : /
I decided that instead of making a cake, I would just be cool and let him pick one out! Well, we waited until pretty late and so he and his daddy ran to the store!
They came back with this beauty (you can't see in the picture, thankfully, but it's got a clock and says Happy New Year!!)
Matt said it was his favorite one and since it was the cheapest cake they had, he wasn't going to argue! So, Happy New Year/Birthday Luke!
And there he is running through the finish line! All done with four.
He's officially 5!
Just a few thoughts about my big boy at this age.
He is such a sweetheart, he is always the one (the only one) that is putting someone else before himself. He's by far the least selfish person in our whole family! Very proud of him for that!
Luke has no trouble getting along with any of his siblings, he's definitely the peace maker and jumps to help whoever is in need!
He loves karate! He's been taking it since we moved here and he goes twice a week and would go more if he could!
He's really REALLY into power rangers right now.
He loves music and anything that his dad is doing.
He wants Matt to jump on the trampoline with him for about 3 of the 4 hours that he's home everyday.
When we have family home evening he always wants to have a turn standing up and sharing his thoughts about Jesus, it is seriously the cutest thing ever!
The one issue that we have with Luke is he is very sensitive. Meaning that his feelings are extraordinarily fragile, like a very thin little glass ball. :)
It makes things interesting sometimes and we have fingers crossed that it something one grows out of!
But he's got an awesome personality and is so smart and so much fun and we're happy to have him as the big brother of the house!! Happy Birthday OOKEY!
