Fall!

IT'S FALL!!

 I love fall. I have been so excited about this season but I've had a hard time keeping a good attitude because it has taken us so long to get into a house.  So I've been escaping to places that remind me that it's a fun time of year!

We found the Avila Valley Barn in Pismo Beach.  I don't know what it is like any other time of the year, but right now it's awesome!  

The first time we went was on one of Nautica's early release days and we called it our family field trip :)

We rode out on a tractor to the apple orchard to pick apples!

It was fun AND educational! The kids saw where apples come from, they learned that bees like apples and Luke learned that bees sting :(

But, they all found apples anyway and everyone left happy!

We liked it so much that we made another trip today! And of course we wore our matching pumpkin shirts (thanks mom!)

We found out that weekends are much busier than weekdays! But we managed to get out of there without losing anyone in the crowd!

This time we took the tractor to the pumpkin patch.  Another educational tidbit, in Florida we thought that a  "pumpkin patch" was a church parking lot with pumpkins all lined up on little hay bells.  Turns out, it's not! 

This was a real pumpkin PATCH with the pumpkins growing out of the ground! Pretty cool :)

The kids' favorite was of course feeding the animals! Saylor was busy chatting with the cow and when I called her name, this is the look I got!

 The hay maze.  When I was little I used to think it was hilarious that my mom would get a claustrophobia style panic over the silliest things.  I guess you can laugh now mom! Do you think I'm going in that thing?
