San Diego

Over Labor Day weekend, we thought it would be fun to go check out San Diego! An actual bed also sounded really nice (thanks to my dad for the hotel!)  So we got up really early and headed down.  The drive wasn't bad at all and we got there just after Legoland had opened for the day!
We didn't actually decide what we were going to do there until we were in the car on the way there! But Legoland won the votes and I think it was a pretty good choice!!

Saylor checkin' out the lego camel
Now our kids aren't really into legos, they still play with the giant ones that they try to stack up to the ceiling, but any kind of "land" sounds fun to kids and they thinks legos are much cooler now!
A lego triceratops!

We got the pass that included the Sea Life aquarium because our kids still haven't outgrown their love of marine animals!

This was one of my favorite things there, and this isn't really that great of a picture, but it was a mini land made of legos and it had all of the big cities in California, then several of the major cities around the world.  The detail was amazing!! I could have stood there and looked all day, but then my kids would have run away or destroyed something

The next day we went to Coronado Island and this is from the car as we were driving over the bridge.  It''s hard to tell in the picture but this bridge was extremely tall!

Hotel del Coronado

The beautiful San Diego Temple
It was my turn to go, so Matt had stay with the kiddos at the hotel :)
We did come back later to get pictures and that is why there is a tiny little boy in the picture, that is Luke!
It was a pretty fantastic trip and there was so much to see there that we probably won't see it all in the three years that we are here, even if we go several times! But we were excited to have found an awesome weekend getaway!
